THE DIFFERENCE YOU'LL MAKE

Did you hear about the koala with a mohawk? Neither did we.

But we did hear about the koala who lost its home.

Aussie wildlife rocks some wild cuts of their own. We have turtles with mullets, birds with mohawks and echidnas with frosted tips.

But climate change, unsustainable development and deforestation is putting our quirky mates at risk of extinction.

Wild Cuts powers work to secure a real future for the native wildlife we care about, by protecting the forests and landscapes they live in, with cleaner air, more resilient soils, healthy oceans and a climate we can rely on!

Did you know?

MCG size of forest is lost every 86 seconds

Habitat of some of the most vulnerable wildlife in Australia is getting cleared at an alarming rate.

Australia is #1 in mammal extinction

34 mammals are gone, for good. Number one in the world... a gold medal place we shouldn't be proud of.

You don't need to be an environmental scientist or activist to make change, all you need is passion.

Big issues like climate change and deforestation can seem overwhelming, But feeling empowered to make a change can give you direction, hope and happiness.

Stephanie Poly, Wilderness Society WA community organiser

The money raised during Wild Cuts for Wildlife will power the Wilderness Society to advocate for the living world that makes your life possible.

Funds will be put to work accross the country to safeguard Australia's most unique and biodiverse-rich landscapes and keep fossil fuels in the ground where they belong.

Where does my money go?

All of the money you raise as part of Wild Cuts for Wildlife 2023 goes directly to our work to protect Australia's nature and the landscapes they call home.
Advocating for new laws that support Aussie wildlife

Environmental laws protect animals. The Wilderness Society demands strong new nature laws and an independent watchdog to enforce those laws to protect Australia's species at risk of extinction.

Stopping risky proposals before they start

We know what it takes to protect the places we love: hundreds of thousands of people standing together. You can be part of that. The Wilderness Society raises awareness of risky proposals so together we can stop them progressing any further.

Community rights in environmental decision making

Knowledge is power. We provide resources and training to empower everyday Australians to speak up and protect their backyards from climate wreckers trying to carve it up for profit.

Monitoring satellite imagery & recording land clearing

Deforestation of habitats can happen in the blind spot of the public. Your support will help monitor land clearing and protect intact ecosystems that are critical for the protection of endangered animals and their homes.
